Cultural route by car.
The municipalities to which the mountains of Prades belong to are connected by many roads, in an almost circular configuration. The cultural route we propose here may be started from many points: from Siurana, from Vilaplana, and more. We propose that you start from l’Albiol, which you can reach through the road that goes from Reus to Montblanc. Once you pass the Selva del Camp, you will see on your left (going from Reus to Montblanc), the beginning of the road that goes up to l’Albiol (TV-7046). This is located a few meters after the bridge, where the railway crosses the road.
Once you get to l’Albiol, the next town is Mont-ral; take the road that starts from behind the church, until you reach the crossing with the TV-704, and turn to your right. You can also keep going until you reach Vilaplana, and then turn to your left. If you take the Mont-ral option, follow until you get to another crossing; follow the signs to Mont-ral, and before you arrive there you will see two small villages that belong to Mont-ral, called l’ Aixàviga and El Bosquet.
From Mont-ral, the third option is Capafonts; in this case, leave the town following the TV-704 and follow the signs. Before arriving to Capafonts you will see to your right the road to Farena, which also belongs to Mont-ral.
Tne next destination is Prades. Leaving Capafonts, follow the road that goes up the mountain and when you get to the Coll de Capafonts, at the crossing, follow the signs. Once in Prades, you can also go to Siurana. Take into account that this will add some kilometres to the route, which you have to walk back if you want to continue this route.
To get to Febró, the next town, follow straight on until the crossing of the Coll of Capafonts until you get to Febró. Then, you must leave the road and follow the signs.
The next point on this route is the abandoned town of La Mussara. To get there, leave Febró from the same point where you arrived, and take the road again; pass by the crossing that would take you to Arbolí until you find another crossing that marks Mussara.
Lastly, the last municipality left is Arbolí; the instructions to get there have already been described. On this road you will see to your right the old camping of the Castillejos, which is in bad shape because the poor sense of civic responsibility of some visitors.
We hope you will enjoy this route and that you will help us preserve this environment. |
